Strong residential growth in Christchurch’s southwest is fuelling demand for retail and office space within the Wigram Skies commercial precinct, The Landing.
There are now only three remaining retail tenancies available in the development, comprising a 153sq m high profile corner site, and units of 90sq m and 100sq m.
New World supermarket anchors The Landing with Wigram Medical centre located opposite.
Other tenants include Subway, Muffin Break, Unichem, Fush, Misola hair salon, Joe’s Garage, Hell Pizza, King Fisher Wigram Indian restaurant, and Mexicali Fresh.
Most recently opened include a new bar, Good Home, SuRa Sushi and Smarty Pants, selling children’s educative gifts. A nail salon and Asian restaurant will open shortly.
The Good Home Wigram, which opened in mid June, is already trading well above expectations and predicts further increases in the warmer months.
Kindercare is operating nearby and a vet is soon to be built on site.
Leasing agent Annabelle Bramwell of Colliers International says The Landing is now seeking non-food retailers such as homeware stores, florists, banks or real estate agents to complete the mix of thriving businesses.
“The retailers are really feeling the benefit of the strong community that constitutes Wigram Skies. The local community has been quick to support the development, already creating a sense of ‘coming together’ of this new suburb.
“With a new primary school opening in 2019, and several future development sites in the area, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of the continued growth servicing such a large residential catchment.”
Bramwell says there are also three upstairs office spaces at The Landing of 220sq m, 84sq m and 100sq m.
